A Wildlife-Friendly Family Garden

Before

This garden was very bare when we started, mostly lawn with compacted soil and very little planting. There were no areas for wildlife and it felt flat and uninspiring.

The Brief

The customer wanted to encourage birds, bees, and hedgehogs while still keeping the garden practical for everyday use. They asked for something natural-looking rather than overly formal.

What We Did

We created a wildflower area to attract pollinators and planted native shrubs along the boundaries to provide shelter for birds and hedgehogs. Gaps were left for safe wildlife access, and a small wildlife pond was added to bring movement and life into the garden. The lawn was reshaped and improved to balance wild areas with usable space.

The Result

The garden now feels alive, with birds visiting daily and flowers bringing colour throughout the seasons.

“Phil listened to exactly what we wanted and brought it to life. We’ve already seen more wildlife and the garden feels so much more alive.”
